Eclipse Orbitrap

The Orbitrap Eclipse Ultra-High Resolution Mass Spectrometry System, developed by Thermo Scientific, is a third-generation "triple" mass spectrometer. This system integrates three mass analyzers (QR5 segmented quadrupole, electrostatic field Orbitrap, and dual-pressure linear ion trap) and three fragmentation modes (CID, HCD, and ETD) into one cohesive platform. Compared to its predecessor, the Orbitrap Eclipse shows significant improvements in ion capture and transfer, sensitivity, HCD fragmentation speed, and ETD fragmentation efficiency, greatly enhancing its ability to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of proteins.
